	It’s our hope—and our belief—that "Small Town, USA" will help create positive change for rural Kansas communities. In addition to showing compelling stories of human drama, it will serve several other important purposes on behalf of the rural communities it portrays by: Showcasing economic development strategies that are working for some rural communities, so that other communities may learn from them. Spotlighting strategies (or the lack thereof) that are not working, so that these, too, may be clearly evaluated by small-town stakeholders. Generating dialogue among leaders, employers and residents of rural communities on key issues that may ultimately translate into action items that could steer those communities toward success. Promoting the benefits of the small-town lifestyle to potential residents and companies, both inside and outside the state of Kansas. These key audiences will have a much greater likelihood of paying attention to a benefit message in this form than one that arrives in their mailboxes in the form of advertising.
