NOT SURE WHAT TO WRITE?
Not sure what to write? Stories can be about you, someone you know or someone you’ve heard about. WRITING QUALITY IS UNIMPORTANT; it’s content we care about. Here are some starter thoughts for the types of stories we’re interested in.

  Stories we’d like to hear about people
  • A human interest story that could only have happened in a small town.
  • A story about someone who has recently moved—or may soon be moving—from a small town to a big city.
  • A story about someone who has recently moved—or may soon be moving—from a big city to a small town.
  • A story about anyone who’s struggling to stay in a small town, but worried that they’ll have to move away.
  • Any information concerning small-town people who make periodic treks to Wichita, Kansas City or any other big city to obtain consumables or experiences they can’t get in a small town.
  • The name of someone who has:
    • never been to a big city
    • never been on an airplane
    • never ridden an elevator or escalator
    • a pronounced sense of discomfort with mid-sized or big cities
